The Court of Appeal has changed the security measure for one of the private security employees arrested after clashes with protesters in Zvërnec, on May 29. Gazmend Vathi, who was left in prison by the Vlora Court, will continue the "house arrest" measure, while for Artur Grani the Appeal left the "prison arrest" measure in force.
Meanwhile, the review of the complaint against the owner of the company "Major Security", Geraldo Biba, continues. The clashes in Zvërnec were accompanied by strong public reactions, after a citizen was dragged away by private security forces, in the presence of State Police officers, while pepper spray was also used against the protesters.
The event led to the dismissal of the director of the Vlora Police, Elidon Çela, and subsequently a series of protests began in the area that are still ongoing.
