Today, on 02.10.26, I witnessed a dramatic event, at the same time, a surreal frustration of some pensioners in search of obtaining a free urban travel pass, by some vendors at kiosks licensed for this purpose.
The sellers' response was: We don't have any tickets, none!
But the pensioners' ordeal did not end there. They presented themselves at the metal gate with heraldic ornaments of the Municipality, where after a long and emotionally charged debate, a strange creature at the institution's reception was told that he knew nothing about this issue, and that the legal and operational powers of the subscription service for pensioners had been transferred to a private company.
The pensioners were left terrified.
One of the most valuable assets from a human and cultural point of view of the Municipality of Tirana, the free subscription for poor pensioners, was thrown away like archaic waste.
Meanwhile, another group of pensioners, nervous and fierce women, headed to the commercial premises of "Torre Drin" where a branch of the municipality that administered the capital's social affairs was said to be located.
I have no information about what happened next, but the scenes were chilling.
The bloody feast of the "sharks" of private business was also supplemented by salted and dried herring meat, that is, the meat of pensioners!
The silence of the institution is the loudest cry of the collapse of the legitimacy, morality, ethics, and supportive policies of the state towards its citizens, a massacre no milder than a public civic humiliation of old people, a kind of discursive cleansing of pensioners, these "walking dead" of our frightening reality.
I want you to explain to me what is really happening, otherwise the "hunt" for witches or sorcerers will begin because apparently, detention is not enough to curb the immorality of local government.
