The United States Embassy in Tirana has reacted to the protests of recent days in the capital, which have been accompanied by clashes between protesters and police forces, as well as acts of violence and damage to public and private property.
In response to the interest of some media outlets about the situation in Tirana, the US Embassy has emphasized the importance of respecting the law and conducting protests peacefully.
"We urge citizens participating in protests to express their position in a legal and peaceful manner. Acts of violence are not part of civic engagement," the US Embassy's response states.
The US diplomatic mission's stance comes after several days of protests in Tirana, where, in addition to demands for the removal of Edi Rama's government, clashes with the police, injured people, and damage to institutions and private businesses have been recorded.
