Police action in Vora, other areas of Tirana and Kuka for the arrest of Bekim Bulica, the owner of the Principotes bar, and Daniel Gjana alias Heurteven, wanted after the murder of Portuguese tourist Luis Miguel Varela Mendez in Ksamil.
"We suspect that Danial Gjana may be hiding in Vora, because he lives there," said a source. While Bulica, the source added, has connections in Kukës. "We do not rule out the possibility that he has fled towards Kosovo," the police official added.
Bulica, the owner of Principore, is wanted, as he was in the bar when the fight between Daniel Gjana and the group of tourists started and then the murder occurred and he did not report it. Meanwhile, Daniel Gjana alias Heurteven is accused of intentional murder committed in collaboration, after he punched the 20-year-old Portuguese. So far, the actions have not yielded results.
The suspected perpetrator, Sokrat Lipan alias Sokrat Vata, a character with a criminal record for several crimes, has been arrested for the murder of the Portuguese, as well as 10 other people, including Miosid Matushaj, a police officer; Luciano Seferi, a police officer in Fier prison, and Romeo Shehu, a municipal police officer in Gjirokastër. Among those arrested are two Turkish citizens, in the trunk of whose car Sokrat Vata was arrested while trying to escape.
