Kosovo has scored an excellent performance on the first day of judo competitions at the Mediterranean Games “Taranto 2026”, winning three bronze medals and registering two fifth places. The medals were secured by Fatjona Kasapi, Flaka Loxha and Akil Gjakova, while Dardan Cena and Erza Muminovic ranked in fifth place.
Fatjona Kasapi won the bronze medal in the 52 kg category, while Flaka Loxha triumphed in the 57 kg category. The third medal for Kosovo was secured by Akil Gjakova in the 73 kg category.
In the fight for bronze, Gjakova defeated the Turkish Bilal Ciloglu with "Ippon", completing another important success for Kosovar judo.
Meanwhile, Dardan Cena and Erza Muminović were stopped in the bronze medal fights and ranked fifth in their categories.
With these three medals, Kosovo has reached the quota of four medals at "Taranto 2026", following the gold medal won by Donjeta Sadiku in boxing.
