British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer will hold his final cabinet meeting in Downing Street this Wednesday, ending his term as head of the United Kingdom government.
After meeting with ministers, Starmer will appear in Parliament for a final showdown with the opposition leader, Kemi Badenoch, during the Prime Minister's Questions (PMQ) session.
According to British media, during the cabinet meeting, government members will thank Starmer for his leadership of the executive, presenting him with a postcard and a symbolic gift, believed to be a desk clock.
This will also be the last parliamentary session before the summer recess. The British Parliament will adjourn on Thursday and resume in September.
Meanwhile, Andy Burnham is set to take office as prime minister next Monday. Conservatives have criticised the decision not to prorogue parliament, arguing that the new prime minister would not face questions from MPs for more than six weeks after taking office.
On the other hand, Burnham's team has announced that he will hold meetings and question-and-answer sessions with citizens across the country during the summer, presenting this as a new approach to running the government.
