Another diaspora citizen has criticized the government at the Diaspora Summit being held in Tirana. The former miner from Bulqizë raised concerns about the non-approval of the miner's status, noting that this repeated promise since 2013 has not yet been fulfilled.
To show the lack of seriousness on the part of the government, he also brought to attention the statement of Socialist MP Vullnet Sinaj, who compared this profession to that of dancers.
"I worked in the Bulqiza mine. The law on the status of miners was not approved, it was promised in 2013. We congratulated him and voted for him, because Bulqiza was right-wing. We voted for him, still nothing. The worst thing is, a deputy compared miners to opera ballerinas, a grave insult," he said.
He then continued with criticism of the Mountain Package and the property issue. The miner stated that he had encountered difficulties in obtaining his grandparents' property, despite repeated requests. In response, Minister Taulant Balla stated that the Mountain Package aims precisely to address the problems created by Law 7501.
He also added that a member of parliament compared miners to opera ballerinas, calling this a serious insult to miners.
In conclusion, he emphasized that the diaspora should have more real space to be heard in these forums, claiming that it is often treated as a number rather than an influential voice.
It is worth noting that while raising concerns, the citizen was repeatedly tried to have his microphone taken away and his speech cut off.
