New details have been learned from the shooting attack in Saranda, where Thimjo Rubati, also known as Sandër Rubati, was seriously injured.
Sources indicate that Rubati has been out of prison for a few years, after being arrested in Greece for a serious incident.
It is learned that the 50-year-old man was shot three times, hitting several parts of his body, including his thigh, abdomen, chest, and right arm.
Rubati is being transported by ambulance to Tirana.
Police are continuing their investigations to clarify the circumstances of the assassination, identify the perpetrators, and determine the motive for the attack. The incident is suspected to be an organized assassination, as the perpetrators are suspected of acting in disguise and riding a motorcycle.
Saranda / Preliminary information
At around 21:15, in neighborhood no. 4, in Saranda, under still unclear circumstances, citizen Th. R., 50 years old, was wounded with a gunshot in front of his business. He was transported to the hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.
Police services immediately arrived at the scene and intensive checks are continuing in the area to identify and capture the perpetrator(s). Initial reports suggest that the perpetrators were two people wearing spacesuits, who fled the scene on a motorbike.
Meanwhile, the investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing its actions at the scene to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, as well as to identify and apprehend the perpetrator(s).
