FIFA has introduced an innovation for the winners of the 2026 World Cup. For the first time in the tournament's history, the players of the national team that will be declared world champion will receive championship rings, following the well-known tradition in American sports such as the NBA and NFL.
According to the announcement, 30 exclusive rings will be produced for the winning team's players and staff, while another 1,996 rings will be released to the market for fans and collectors.
With this innovation, FIFA aims to offer champions a permanent symbol of triumph, in addition to the World Cup trophy, bringing a new element that is expected to become a tradition in future editions.
