Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a €40m bid for Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde, with Luis Enrique keen to bring him to Paris.
According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, the PSG coach sees Balde as an alternative to Nuno Mendes on the left wing and wants to have him available to increase the alternatives in that position.
Balde's future at Barcelona could take a turn during the January transfer window. The defender has not always had regular minutes, a situation that could push the Catalan club to consider offers for him.
PSG, meanwhile, are looking to strengthen their left-back position and Balde is one of the names that has caught the French club's attention. The reported €40m bid is expected to put Barcelona in a position to make a decision, while it remains to be seen whether the Catalan giants would be willing to part with the Spanish defender.
If the transfer were to go through, Balde would return under the orders of Luis Enrique, with whom he could work in Paris in an important role on the left wing.
