Keep your friends close but your enemies closer – with this logic, Sali Berisha seems to be reconfirming Gaz Bardhi as the head of the DP parliamentary group. The latter, despite achieving a poor result in Fier, will continue to remain the former favorite collaborator of the DP leader. It is likely, and given the political history, that Berisha assigns figures who tend to rebel against him to seemingly important, but essentially worthless tasks for their political career. This is also for the simple reason that the DP deputies will now be distributed in three parliamentary groups and, given their small number in this parliament, Bardhi's leadership will be purely symbolic. If you add to this the fact that the DP deputies are all products of the closed list and Berisha's personal selection, Gaz Bardhi will remain simply a member of the group with a slightly higher salary and other administrative privileges, more than the other DP deputies.
Sali Berisha seems to be following the same tactic with Jorida Tabaku, where it is believed that he will leave her place in the Parliamentary Integration Commission. Her personal connections with some of the European parties or in the European Commission are better than those of Albana Vokshi. And after the trickery he made on the Tirana list, Berisha will now reap the fruits of Jorida's English to serve his "non grata".
With a September that begins without any analysis or opposition plan, the division of posts among DP deputies for banal parliamentary privileges seems to be the only motive to write a critical status about Edi Rama on Facebook to date. The upcoming political season is not expected to bring any change with a prime minister and an opposition leader who have found and are already enjoying the "comfort zone" that they have assigned to each other.
The only ones who were thought to be able to bring a real revolution to the opposition are now in the ranks commanded by Sali Berisha, and in addition to conversations at cafe or restaurant tables, there will be platforms where the leadership of the DP will be criticized and its leader will be called by nicknames.
