The first plenary session is expected to take place on September 10th, and Sali Berisha, as the oldest MP in the Assembly, will be responsible for opening the meeting.
Asked today by the media whether he will accept the opening of the parliamentary session, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha said that he will not accept and that he cannot do Albania this disservice.
"I can never open an illegitimate parliament. I cannot do such a disservice to my country. Forget it! If it were legitimate, I would gladly do it. I would have been happy. But this is an illegitimate parliament. It does not represent the will of Albanian citizens according to all national and international documents."
It is the recommendation of the Council of Europe "In Albania, the party should be separated from the state". That's enough, just this phrase to show that this is the parliament of the party state. And how can they allow themselves to sit there?!" - Berisha told journalists at a media conference.
After him, the second oldest name in the Assembly is MP Tritan Shehu. For which journalists again asked Berisha if the DP MP would agree to open. But the head of the blue headquarters said that he has not communicated with him.
