Fireworks were heard near Durrës prison, where Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj is being held, this evening.
Unofficial sources told VNA that the fireworks were set off by Veliaj's supporters to celebrate the Constitutional Court's decision, which rejected the president's decree on the mayoral elections in Tirana.
The decision-making of the panel of judges was 5-3 in favor of overturning the Government's decision dismissing the mayor of Tirana, following the proposal made by the Tirana Municipal Council.
