The country's two main parties, the Democratic Party and the Socialist Party, have submitted to the Central Election Commission their financial reports for the May 11, 2025 election campaign. Based on the data, it turns out that the SP, which received a record 83 mandates, has spent less than the DP.
According to official data, the Democratic Party had a total income of 227.1 million lek, while expenses reached 213 million lek. The majority of the funds came from the party itself, 171 million lek, and from public funds, 44.8 million lek.
On the other hand, the Socialist Party has reported total income of 180 million lek, where the main source was also financing from the party itself with about 103.7 million lek, followed by public funds with 65.2 million lek. The total SP expenses for the campaign are 169.5 million lek.
Both parties have stated that they have not taken out any loans or credits to finance the campaign, while the DP has also reported 13.8 million lek in unpaid liabilities, which remain to be repaid.
