Belind Këlliçi and Ervin Salianji can hardly ever unite for a political cause. Even though they both work within the Democratic Party, their journeys have always been separate.
However, recently, with great caution, the two seem to be taking the first steps towards a common ambition — that of the leader of the Democratic Party. Këlliçi, through his friend Besart Xhaferaj, and Salianji, through recent public statements, have hinted that they would not mind running for the party leadership after their defeat in the May 11 elections.
Today, the two appeared at the office of the mayor of Kavaja, Fisnik Qosja, and with them was Hysen Kadiu, the winner of the Tirana primaries who was left out of the list of deputies. The latter also posted a photo from the meeting, where the four young politicians look like they are "cooking" something new.
It is difficult to say whether this "recipe" will work in the conditions in which the DP currently finds itself, but in any case, it is better for the waters to move than for them to remain stagnant for 30 or so years.
