The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a press statement today at the Opposition Headquarters, where he stated that the opposition continues to consider the Constitution as the best legal framework for protecting citizens' rights.
Berisha stressed that the opposition expresses support and has not exercised violence against institutions or justice bodies.
The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has warned that the protest called for December 22 will take various forms, including hunger strikes, with the aim of overthrowing the government of Edi Rama. Berisha has called for mass participation of Albanians, focusing his calls mainly on young people.
"The 22nd has been called. Our protests will be diversified with strikes, hunger strikes and all forms. If we decide to fulfill our mission, we are determined. Our protests and all of us must be clear that, with this regime, sustainable protest is vital. They are the forms that overthrow dictatorships. The greatest possible engagement of young people in this battle is essential, because the opposition and the Albanians will win," declared Berisha.
The leader of the Democrat Party also commented on the Socialist Party's request to exclude more than half of the DP deputies from parliamentary activities following the chaos caused in the Assembly. Berisha attacked the chairman of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, saying that he is "more criminal than the gang leaders in Albania."
"Imagine what is happening, it is typical of a narco-state. Don't forget, a deputy prime minister, without the prosecution asking for it and without a request for an investigation being submitted, handed over his mandate and post, and this was Ilir Meta, as soon as a 100% manipulated document came out. Fatmir Mediu, for an issue that was absolutely of the military apparatus, resigned from his post and appeared before the investigation. What happened yesterday in Parliament, and now they are seeking to expel more than half of the deputies? The one who leads the SP group is more criminal than Suela Çela, Elvis Doci and Safet Bajri. Because they stay in their basements, while this one stays in the government offices, protects and implements their orders," Berisha said.
