The Facebook page "Dukagjin Deli Zot Vetit", of representatives of the residents of Dukagjin and organizers of two protests for their road, has issued a reaction, denying yesterday's post by Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci.
Contrary to what the Prime Minister and the Mayor say, claiming that the works on the Prekal-Lotaj-Ndërlysaj road are progressing, residents emphasize that the segment continues to be narrow, unfinished and substandard. According to them, the road has no retaining walls, no bridges, no drainage channels and is dangerous for its users.
"Dukagjin Deli Zot Vetit informs you that yesterday's post, shared by Edi Rama and Benet Beci, is a total hoax. We are residents of Dukagjin and we know where and how much work has been done on the much-discussed Dukagjin road. The Prekal-Kirë axis continues to be the same as it was 80 years ago: narrow, without retaining walls, without protective walls, without bridges and without drainage channels. This segment began in 2023 and continues to be unfinished and very dangerous for residents, as well as for hundreds of tourists who pass by every day.
We, as the page and as organizers of the two major protests "Dukagjini seeks the road", condemn and describe as shameful and mocking yesterday's action of the Prime Minister, as well as the Mayor of Shkodra. We publicly call on Benet Beci to desist from these kinds of scandalous actions that affect the provocation and mockery of the Dukagjini community. If the Dukagjini road does not start to be built seriously and with the right parameters, then we will take our own measures" - they express.
Residents warn that if serious construction does not begin and with the proper parameters, the Dukagjini community will take measures to protect its interests.
