Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha commented today on the January 21 killings, where 4 protesters lost their lives in front of the Prime Minister's Office building.
Berisha has described these killings as "involuntary state crimes," explaining that, according to him, there was no direct order to shoot, but the victims were killed with state weapons due to an unexpected incident, such as a ricochet.
"Intentional state crime has its own rules, but here we are dealing with an unintentional state crime. They were compensated, but I don't know if the amounts were sufficient," Berisha said.
He also emphasized the responsibility of Prime Minister Edi Rama, emphasizing that he is primarily responsible for the event as he "brought them there" and citing various statements that speak of an investigation and political agenda for the demonstration.
Berisha made these comments after his appearance at SPAK regarding the "Partizani" affair, where he is implementing the security measure "Compulsory appearance".
Berisha was accompanied by his lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, and during the signing of the measure left a written message addressed to SPAK head Altin Dumani. In his note, Berisha accused Dumani of being a “public fraudster of the highest rank” and compared him to former minister Fatmir Xhafaj, describing him as “the main advocate of electoral crime.”
"Altin Troplini alias Dumani is a public deceiver of the highest rank, the same as Ramaduro. He declared that the lawsuits brought to SKAP, with dozens and dozens of lawsuits for electoral crime, had the complete immorality to deceive Albanians that these lawsuits had no evidence.
I guarantee that he will answer to the Albanians for this public deception and that the parliament, the opposition, will start work precisely on unraveling this public deception.
