After the "burning" of Florian Binaj's name by Sali Berisha for the upcoming race for the Municipality of Tirana, the member of the Municipal Council, Ilir Alimehmeti, has come back to the scene, reinstating his request to be the Democratic Party's candidate in the 2027 elections.
During a conversation with students, Alimehmeti stated that he is still “awaiting a response” from the DP regarding his candidacy, which he says he submitted a long time ago. According to him, the review process is taking a long time, while the number of candidates remains limited.
"I have been clear: I am available and awaiting a response. My candidacy has been submitted and is expected to be reviewed soon. However, I can say that the number of candidacies is limited," he said.
