Today in Belgrade, Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine's position on Kosovo has not changed: Kiev does not recognize its independence and respects the territorial integrity of Serbia.
The statement comes after his meeting with Aleksandar Vučić, at a time when Serbia continues to maintain cautious relations with Moscow, but at the same time seeks to benefit from rapprochement with Kiev and Brussels.
The question now is for official Tirana: do those who welcomed Zelensky with red carpets, photos, smiles, and enthusiastic declarations of "friendship" with Ukraine have anything to say when the Ukrainian president reiterates from Belgrade that Kosovo remains outside Kiev's recognition?
Because solidarity with Ukraine is right. But solidarity cannot be a one-way street, where Tirana applauds while Kiev carefully maintains a position that benefits Serbia.
If Albanian politics knows how to take pictures with Zelensky, it should also know how to speak when he gives Vučić a diplomatic gift: Kosovo beyond Ukrainian recognition.
