The Democratic Party has leveled accusations against the Constitutional Court, criticizing it for unjustified delaying a case that, according to the opposition, has particular constitutional importance.
The chairman of the DP parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, through a post on social networks, declares that the opposition addressed the Constitutional Court in September 2025, opposing the appointment of the virtual minister "Diella".
According to Bardhi, even though almost 12 months have passed since the filing of the request, the Constitutional Court has not yet made a final decision on this matter.
He claims that the judicial review was closed on May 26, 2026, but the institution did not respect the legal deadline of 30 days for the publication of the reasoned decision. According to him, more than 70 days have passed since the conclusion of the review without a decision being made public.
For the Democratic Party, this delay violates the right to due process and damages citizens' trust in constitutional justice. The opposition also raises questions about the functioning of the institution whose role is to guarantee respect for the Constitution.
So far, the Constitutional Court has not reacted to the Democratic Party's accusations.
