A prisoner on compulsory treatment died in the early hours of the morning in hospital, after his health condition deteriorated.
The police inform that all legal procedures have been followed and the relevant institutions and family members have been notified.
Police announcement:
Convicted prisoner Hajri Ramazan Robi passed away at around 05:00 at the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center, in the Central Resuscitation Room, as a result of cardio-respiratory arrest.
The convicted person with compulsory treatment, Hajri Ramazan Robi, born on 07.01.1958, born and residing in Durrës, was arrested on 12.03.2026 for the criminal offense of “Domestic Violence”. He entered the Lezhë Penitentiary Institution on 14.03.2026, pursuant to Decision No. 156, dated 13.03.2026, of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durrës.
On 30.03.2026, the convict was transferred from the Lezha Penitentiary and admitted to the Prison Hospital Center. On 02.04.2026, he was urgently admitted to the Central Resuscitation, diagnosed with arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus and a left subtrochanteric fracture.
All legal procedures have been implemented for this case, notifying the Internal Prison Control Service, the Prosecutor's Office, the Police Commissariat, and the family members.
