The Administrative Court has postponed the hearing regarding the lawsuit filed by the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who is seeking to declare his appointment as prosecutor in 2008 invalid. The next hearing is scheduled for May 8, at 2:00 PM.
The judges announced that the postponement was made to settle procedural issues, while warning that otherwise the lawsuit could be dismissed.
"The hearing is postponed to settle the dispute, otherwise the lawsuit will be dismissed," the court said.
Veliaj has previously argued that he is in a conflict of interest with prosecutor Ols Dado, emphasizing that the latter has requested construction permits via the prosecutor's office phone and has frequently visited the Municipality of Tirana.
