A court hearing is underway at the Administrative Court to review Erion Veliaj's lawsuit, which seeks to declare the presidential decree appointing Olsi Dado as prosecutor absolutely invalid. The mayor himself is present at the hearing, while Olsi Dado is represented by lawyer Erarbër Madhi.
According to Veliaj, Dado was appointed as prosecutor in violation of the law. But the mayor has used his speech to talk about investigations that are not related to the issue for which he sued the prosecutor of his case.
He, among other things, has recycled statements from his propaganda, saying that in the Municipality of Tirana he has only planted trees and built nurseries.
While the judge has called on him several times to focus on the lawsuit's request.
Discussions from the session:
Erion Veliaj: I'm not here for mercy, I'm not here for my family's drama. I'm here to show what this caused the Municipality of Tirana? Nesti Angoni doesn't exist, I don't know who to report.
Judge: Focus on the case. The court has a duty to guide the process.
Veliaj: What damage have I caused to Tirana? That I planted trees? That I built 50 schools and kindergartens?
Court: Focus on the subject of the claim.
Veliaj: I have a conflict of interest with Olsi Dado, because he, by phone from the prosecutor's office, requested a building permit.
The session is ongoing...
