
A life-sentenced prisoner was transferred from Peqin prison to Burrel prison for security reasons, while during a search of the waiting room, a suspected quantity of narcotics was found.
According to the announcement of the General Directorate of Prisons, the transfer of the convict with the initials MP was carried out following information obtained operationally by the structures of the Internal Control Service in the Prison System.
The decision for the transfer was made by order of the General Director, Adriatik Kupi, due to security considerations.
During a thorough search upon admission to the Burrel Penitentiary, a small bag of suspected narcotics, hidden inside a sock, was found among the convict's personal belongings.
Immediately after the finding, the institution's leaders, internal control structures, and the State Police through the Burrel Police Commissariat were notified, which took delivery of the material for conducting the relevant expertise.
