Rio Ferdinand has made a huge assessment of Jude Bellingham, comparing the Real Madrid star to some of the greatest midfield legends of the same age.
Speaking on the "Rio Presents" podcast, the former England defender mentioned Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Zinedine Zidane and Xavi, highlighting Bellingham's achievements at the age of 23.
"Mr Jude Bellingham. If you compare what he's done at 23 to other legends, Steven Gerrard had just become Liverpool captain at 23. Frank Lampard joined Chelsea six days before he turned 23," Ferdinand said.
He continued the comparison with two of the biggest names in world football.
"Zinedine Zidane made his debut for the French national team at the age of 22, while Xavi was just becoming a key player for Barcelona and didn't win the Champions League for the first time until the age of 26."
"I'm not saying he's better than any of these players, because it's still early in his career, but at 23, comparing him to them at the same age, he's clearly outperforming them all," the former England defender added.
Ferdinand has thus highlighted the extraordinary pace of Bellingham's development, who since his transfer to Real Madrid has become one of the main figures of the Spanish club and one of the most important names in European football.
