The US president said he "hopes" Iran's economy fails because "I want to win."
"It's failing. We have sanctions on them, extraordinary sanctions. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has done a great job. We have sanctions that have never been seen before," he said.
Trump added that Iran's currency is now "worthless" and claimed that the inflation rate is "probably 150 percent."
"They have to do the smart thing, because we don't want to go in and kill people, we really don't. I don't want to, it's very difficult. They're wonderful people, I know them, I've had a lot of Iranian friends from New York and other places over the years, they're great people. I don't want to kill them," he said.
