US President Donald Trump has reacted to the refusal of NATO allies to participate in military operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
"I am not surprised by their behavior, as I have always considered NATO, on which we spend hundreds of billions of dollars a year to protect these very countries, as a one-way street, we protect them, but they do nothing for us, especially in times of need," the American president writes on the Truth Social platform.
"Fortunately, we have destroyed Iran's armed forces," Trump said, "and precisely because of this extraordinary military success, we no longer need or desire the assistance of NATO countries; we never have needed it."
The US President added that the same applies to Japan, Australia or South Korea.
"In fact, speaking as president of the United States of America, the most powerful country in the world, we don't need anyone's help!" Trump concluded.
