US President Donald Trump has expressed disappointment with the United Kingdom's reaction after he sought support for intervention in the conflict with Iran.
Trump said he had spoken with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Sunday and had asked London to mobilize in support of operations against Iran.
"The United Kingdom could be considered our number one ally, the one with the longest history and so on. However, when I asked them to intervene, they refused," Trump declared.
According to him, only after the United States had "almost completely neutralized Iran's threat capability" did the British offer to send two ships.
"When we had virtually eliminated the Iranian threat, they said, 'Okay, we'll send two ships.' But I said, 'We need these ships before we win, not after we win,'" Trump said in an interview with the Financial Times.
