The number of children killed by extreme cold in the Gaza Strip has reached eight since the start of the season, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reported. The latest case is a 27-day-old baby, Aisha Ayesh al-Agha, who died in Khan Younis due to low temperatures and lack of heating.
Medical sources emphasize that this tragedy shows the severity of the humanitarian situation in the region, especially for children and displaced people living in tents unprotected from the weather.
Residents face a shortage of shelter, fuel and heating supplies, and inadequate medical services, as the region grapples with storms, rain and freezing temperatures. The critical situation has prompted calls for international aid and the delivery of emergency supplies to protect the lives of the most vulnerable residents.
