
European leaders joined the phone call with US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky after the Alaska summit, in an exchange that "lasted more than an hour", the French government said in a statement.
The call was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Polish President Karol Nawrocki, according to the Elysee Palace.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and the European Union's Ursula von der Leyen also joined the call.
Zelensky said he spoke with Trump one-on-one for "about an hour" after the US-Russia meeting.
