Foreign media have published photos of the rocket, which fell very close to the border with Turkey, specifically in Qamishli, a city in northeastern Syria.
Recall that earlier Turkey said that NATO air defenses shot down an Iranian missile heading towards their airspace.
The Turkish Ministry of National Defense states that: "A ballistic missile, launched from Iran and detected heading towards Turkish airspace, after crossing the airspace of Iraq and Syria, was immediately neutralized by NATO missile defenses deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean."
NATO in a response condemned Iran's targeting of Turkey after a missile entered its airspace, saying it stands firmly with all its allies.
