The conflict in the Middle East is taking on increasingly dangerous proportions. Iranian state television announced that the funeral of slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has been postponed until later this evening, while the country is under continuous attacks from Israel and the United States.
At the same time, Iran has appointed Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the slain ayatollah, as its new supreme leader, who is expected to take over the leadership of the Islamic Republic amid an unprecedented escalation of the war.
Tensions have also escalated in the region. Turkey said a missile fired from Iran was intercepted by NATO air defenses in Turkish airspace. Turkish authorities warned that Ankara "reserves the right to respond."
Meanwhile, Iranian missiles have also hit Kuwait, while the Israeli army continues attacks on Tehran and has also launched strikes in Lebanon.
In another significant development, a submarine attacked an Iranian ship off the coast of Sri Lanka, injuring 32.
The situation in the region remains very tense, while fears of a wider spread of conflict in the Middle East are growing.
