The situation in the Middle East is escalating rapidly, as clashes between Israel and Iran are taking on regional dimensions.
Tehran has warned the European Union that any military involvement would be considered an "act of war", while the UN has raised the alarm about a "hypothesis of war crimes" after an Israeli attack on a school in Iran.
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump said that Iran "wanted to talk, but now it's too late", warning of a response after a drone attack on the US embassy in Riyadh. The building was empty and there were no injuries.
Israel announced that it had carried out new attacks on the “leadership complex” in Tehran, including the presidential office. According to the Red Crescent, the death toll since the joint US-Israeli strikes began has reached 787.
Israel's Defense Minister said ground troops would "advance and take control of other strategic areas in Lebanon" in an effort to stop the attacks. Meanwhile, UNIFIL has evacuated non-essential personnel.
Netanyahu has warned that "new nuclear sites must be destroyed immediately," but added that "the war will not be endless."
Meanwhile, Iran continues attacks in the region targeting American bases, while the United Kingdom and France have announced the dispatch of ships to protect the British base in Akrotiri, Cyprus.
The conflict has had immediate economic consequences: oil and gas prices have increased significantly, while global markets have suffered losses estimated at over $300 billion.
The region is entering a new phase of uncertainty, with the risk that the clash will escalate into a wider international conflict.
