Around a hundred pro-Palestine protesters today forcibly entered the offices of the newspaper "La Stampa" in Turin, breaking into the editorial room and causing material damage.
Many of the protesters, with their faces covered, wrote slogans on the walls and threw books and newspapers from the editorial premises. They also placed organic fertilizer outside the main entrance.
The incident has caused great concern and strong reactions. Journalists from "La Stampa", who were on strike today along with their colleagues in the Italian media, condemned the attack and considered it a threat to press freedom, also asking why the police did not intervene to protect the editorial office.
"We are not afraid. We are journalists and we will continue to do our job without being intimidated by threats," La Stampa journalists declared.
