Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the end of the war in the region depends on an immediate halt to attacks by the United States and Israel, as well as guarantees that these attacks will not be repeated in the future.
The statement was made during a phone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to a post by the Iranian embassy in India on the social network X, Pezeshkian stressed that without these conditions there can be no lasting peace in the region.
The Iranian president also proposed the creation of a new regional security framework, composed of West Asian countries, with the aim of guaranteeing peace and stability through regional cooperation, without interference from external powers.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media is reporting a new threat to US President Donald Trump. According to the Iranian Tasnim News Agency, an Iranian source has warned that if Trump were to set foot on the Iranian island of Kharg, he would face a "surprise".
"If terrorist Trump makes such a mistake, we will reserve him such a surprise that he will not even be able to remove the coffins of his soldiers from our soil," the source was quoted as saying, further adding to the tensions in the rhetoric between the parties.
