An avalanche in Tallone Grande, in South Tyrol, Italy, has caused a tragedy, claiming the lives of two people.
After the accident, authorities immediately launched a major rescue operation, which in addition to the victims, found five other people, three seriously injured and two others with minor injuries, the Bolzano Emergency Center announced.
The avalanche occurred at around 11:40 a.m., at an altitude of 2,445 meters, involving a total of 25 climbers and skiers. Most of them fortunately only suffered minor injuries from the snow.
Around 80 rescue workers participated in the operation, supported by six helicopters.
