Details have emerged regarding the murder of a 30-year-old Albanian man in Italy. Gjergj Pergegaj was eliminated in Olmo with four gunshots, while Italian media report that the crime was committed by another Albanian citizen, 35 years old, who has also been arrested.
The incident took place around midnight between Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21, in the area in front of the club at the Olmo roundabout, at the beginning of Via Romana. According to “La Nazione”, the motive for the quarrel seems to be that of passion. It is reported that the young Albanian man, at the end of his work shift, stopped to talk to his ex-girlfriend. Her current partner arrived at that moment and, after seeing them together, lost his temper, pulled out a gun and opened fire on his rival. He then left the scene. Approximately two hours after the murder, a call from the wanted man arrived at the number 112, in which he declared that he wanted to surrender and gave his location.
Patrol cars and the Flying Squad arrived at the indicated location, near the hills above Rigutino, where they found the man waiting for them in the car with the used weapon, which he had illegally possessed. The Albanian was arrested and sent to prison on charges of intentional homicide, pending investigation by Prosecutor Elisabetta Greco. Further investigations, coordinated by the Arezzo Prosecutor's Office, are underway to reconstruct the circumstances of the incident and the motive. The victim's body has been transferred to the morgue of the San Donato Hospital in Arezzo pending an autopsy, which has not yet been determined.
