
Iran launched two medium-range ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia, but failed to hit the joint US-British military base on the Indian Ocean island, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military continued its overnight strikes on Beirut and Tehran. The IDF said in the early hours of Saturday that it had struck Hezbollah targets in Beirut, after issuing an evacuation warning for seven neighborhoods on the southern outskirts of the Lebanese capital.
Also, through a statement on Telegram, the IDF announced that they had also carried out an attack "against terrorist targets in Tehran."
Meanwhile, on the other hand, the United States has approved the sale of Iranian oil that is already in transit until April 19.
President Donald Trump said the US is considering "scaling down" military efforts in the Middle East. However, officials said thousands more US troops are already heading to the region.
A day earlier, Trump called NATO allies "cowards" for not helping the US secure the Strait of Hormuz.
He also downplayed the prospects for a ceasefire. Following Trump's statements, Britain decided to grant the US permission to use its bases in the region for operations by American forces.
