The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), General Eyal Zamir, stated that Iran has demonstrated the ability to strike even European capitals with very long-range ballistic missiles.
According to Zamir, just a day earlier, Iran launched a two-stage intercontinental ballistic missile, with a range of about 4,000 kilometers, towards a US target on the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.
"These missiles were not intended to hit Israel. Their range reaches European capitals: Berlin, Paris and Rome are all within direct strike range," Zamir said.
The statement comes at a time when tensions in the Middle East have increased significantly and concern about Iran's missile capabilities is expanding beyond the region, including the security of Europe.
