The Human Rights Activists News Agency has reported that at least 1,464 civilians, including 217 children, have been killed in Iran during the first month of the conflict, which began on February 28.
According to published data, the Israeli Defense Forces have dropped over 12,000 bombs on Iranian territory, with around 3,600 of them used in Tehran alone. On the other hand, the US Central Command has stated that it has hit more than 9,000 targets across the country.
Targets of the attacks reportedly include police stations, Basij militia buildings, security force headquarters, military universities, as well as suspected ammunition depots and points. However, many of these targets are located within residential areas, increasing the risk to the civilian population.
Residents interviewed by the BBC have expressed concern that the strikes on populated neighborhoods are increasing discontent, even among those who have previously been critical of the Iranian government.
The IDF confirmed the attacks but did not provide further comment on the incidents, while the US Department of Defense did not respond to media inquiries.
On the other hand, Iran has been accused of striking civilian infrastructure in neighboring countries, including airports and hotels in Gulf countries, which are considered allies of Washington.
