
Two people were killed and several others were injured after a car drove into a crowd in the city of Leipzig, Germany, on Monday afternoon.
According to authorities, 22 people were injured, two of them seriously. The incident took place in the central Grimmaische Straße area.
The driver of the vehicle has been arrested and, according to police, is no longer a danger to the public. The motive for the attack remains unclear.
Around 40 firefighters and 40 medical teams, as well as two emergency helicopters, have been deployed to the scene, while the area has been completely cordoned off.
