The United Arab Emirates announced today, May 4, that Iran has launched an attack by launching two suicide drones against a tanker affiliated with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), in the Strait of Hormuz.
In an official statement, the UAE Foreign Ministry stressed that targeting merchant ships and using the Strait of Hormuz for economic coercion or blackmail purposes constitute acts of piracy by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported from the incident.
The statement also underlined that the UAE strongly condemns the attack on the national tanker affiliated with ADNOC during its passage through this strategic sea route.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has raised its alert level, activating alarm sirens due to possible drone threats from Iran, especially in coastal areas and near oil infrastructure.
