Iran is nearing a deal with China to buy anti-ship cruise missiles, according to six sources familiar with the negotiations. The development comes at a time when the United States has deployed a large naval force near the Iranian coast to deter potential attacks on the Islamic Republic.
The deal for the Chinese-made CM-302 missiles is nearing completion, although a delivery date has not yet been set, the sources said. The supersonic missiles have a range of about 290 kilometers and are designed to evade ship defense systems by flying at low altitudes and high speeds./Reuters
