Several airstrikes hit Beirut's southern suburbs overnight, while explosions were also reported in several areas of southern Lebanon.
Footage released by Reuters shows a large plume of smoke rising over the southern areas of the capital. These areas are known as Hezbollah strongholds and have long been the target of Israeli airstrikes.
At the same time, Israel has issued evacuation warnings for most of southern Lebanon, some areas of the capital Beirut and the Beqaa Valley. These measures have been taken as part of efforts to strike Hezbollah positions in various areas of the country.
According to data released by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, as of Sunday afternoon at least 850 people had been killed and over 2,100 others injured since the beginning of the clashes. However, these figures have not been independently confirmed by other sources.
Meanwhile, United Nations peacekeepers announced that they had been shot during patrols at their bases. According to them, the shooting most likely came from non-state armed groups, but there were no reports of injuries.
Hezbollah, on the other hand, said it carried out five attacks on Monday. According to the same source, the group had carried out 25 attacks the day before, targeting targets in Israel, the Golan Heights, and Israel Defense Forces positions located in Lebanese territory.
