At least nine people have been killed in the city of Beit Shemesh, in what is considered the highest death toll since the start of Israeli attacks on Iran on Saturday.
Beit Shemesh, located between West Jerusalem and Jaffa, is a growing area where Iranian missiles have hit mostly homes built years ago. According to reports, one of the homes in the area was also hit by the strikes.
Rescue teams continue to work to pull people trapped under the rubble, while there are fears that the death toll could rise. Residents also express concern that alarm sirens were not activated in time in Beit Shemesh, raising serious questions about the warning system.
The incident underscores the high risk Israel is taking with the escalation of the conflict with Iran. Iranian missiles continue to hit Israeli cities, while the Israeli defense system faces the challenge of intercepting them, with serious consequences when the missiles reach their target, as happened in Beit Shemesh and earlier in Tel Aviv.
The situation remains tense, with fears that the clash between the two countries could further deepen the tragic toll of civilian casualties.
