Analyzing the upset, De la Fuente stressed that Spain had several clear chances that could have changed the course of the match much earlier.
"The upset started when we had three clear chances and didn't score. I saw the team capable of reacting in any situation. I'm sure that even with the score 3-1 we would have reacted the same way," he said.
The Spanish coach also had good words for Ferran Torres, praising his contribution to the team's game, even though the striker was not on the scorer list.
"Ferran is a very good goal scorer. I am satisfied with his work and Mikel Oyarzabal also benefited from it. This is team work and this is the strength we have," declared De la Fuente.
