The Tirana Court has imposed the security measure "Compulsory appearance" for 10 people arrested during anti-government protests, including a 14-year-old.
For the minor with the initials AB, the court has deemed the arrest carried out on October 20, at around 11:30 p.m., lawful. He is suspected of the criminal offenses of “Opposing a public order police officer” and “Destruction of property”.
According to the decision, the 14-year-old must report to the judicial police on the first Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. The court has also ordered his immediate release, unless he is being held for any other legal reason.
The court hearing was held in the presence of parents and psychologists, while the minor was defended by lawyers Henri Bici and Adriana Kalaja.
The decision can be appealed within five days at the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Tirana.
The security measures come after arrests made during recent protests in the capital, where students, professors and citizens have demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
