The GJKKO is being "bombarded" by requests from lawyers, who are demanding the revocation of the fines that have been applied to them, because they have not participated in any court session for two months, after they declared a boycott in protest against the institution's regulations, which they consider an obstacle to the exercise of their duties.
Over the past few days, over 30 criminal requests have been filed by legal defenders, which are expected to be reviewed by members of the Criminal Procedure Code in the coming days. Meanwhile, lawyers warn of new requests for every fine that has been applied to them.
The Albanian Bar Association has decided to boycott all court hearings until the Court reflects on the regulation. All lawyers have been fined 50-100 thousand lekë.
The boycott continues, impeding the Special Court, while any lawyer who has not respected it has had their license to practice suspended.
