Three people have been killed and seven others injured after a shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, United States.
The serious incident occurred in a busy shopping mall, where hundreds of people were present at the time of the shooting. Police arrived immediately at the scene and found the body of a person suspected of being the perpetrator of the attack in an area near the restaurant.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the suspect is among the victims. Some of the injured are reported to be in critical condition, while the identities of the victims have not been released, as the process of notifying next of kin is ongoing.
Witnesses described moments of panic during the attack. According to them, a person armed with an AR-type rifle was seen leaving the restaurant's service area, while another person returned fire.
A restaurant employee was seen helping a colleague who was seriously injured in the chest, removing her from the danger area and staying by her side until emergency crews arrived.
A witness who was in the restaurant with her daughters said that the shooting started from the kitchen area, while employees asked customers to lie on the floor and then quickly leave the premises.
US police are continuing their investigation to fully uncover the incident, interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence. It is not yet known whether the attack had a specific target or was a random act.
